The Daily Schedule is Up

I was able to post the daily schedule under Calvert links on the right. (I'm going to try to resize it, but I'm no expert at Excel and may have to wait until the 17th when I can go in and get help from an Excel pro like Joe McGraw or Shara Khon Duncan. You can resize it on your computer by holding the control key and tapping the minus sign.) The first two periods of the day say Math/Reading. Your son will obviously have one and then the other. The order in which he has them will be detemined by which group he is in. Since this is brand new to Calvert, information will be sent explaining the whole process in late August or early September.

Baby Birds!!!

The birds' nest in Conner's window which had shown little activity, took a drastic turn today with the emergence of at least three baby birds. Since we're looking through the side of the nest it's difficult to tell how many are there, but they are very vocal, especially when food is on the way. As they get bigger and explore the window sill we hope to see them more clearly. The dutiful parents are providing food about every twenty to thirty minutes at this point. If these are indeed house wrens, the young will fledge in 15 - 19 days which works out well because by then we will have returned from the beach.
