On Friday, the Ninth Age attended an assembly led by some volunteers from the Red Cross. The focus of the presentation was to be pro-active concerning any possible problems including blizzards, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, and fires. There were many tips concerning fire safety. These included having working smoke detectors throughout the house and having a plan of how to get out of the house if there is a fire. It was stressed that each person should have two exit routes planned in case fire blocks one of them. The motto that echoed through the auditorium was, "Don't be scared, be Prepared!!"
